Queens Federation of Churches

Established in 1931 during the Great Depression, the Queens Federation of Churches (QFC) is an ecumenical organization dedicated to serving the diverse Christian communities of Queens, New York. Over the decades, it has grown to encompass over 700 Christian congregations, representing a wide array of denominations, including Adventist, Baptist, Catholic, Lutheran, Methodist, Presbyterian, and many others. Governed by a voluntary Board of Directors, each serving a three-year term, QFC operates under the guidance of an executive director. Since 1978, Pastor N.J. In its early years, QFC focused on youth ministry, organizing conferences and establishing the Protestant Committee on Scouting to emphasize the spiritual aspects of the Boy Scout program. With support from the New York City Youth Board in the 1950s and 1960s, the Federation employed youth workers and opened centers in nine churches, serving nearly 1,000 young people weekly through various activities and programs.
