Maroubra Synagogue
Maroubra Synagogue, established over 70 years ago by Holocaust survivors, stands as a testament to resilience and faith in the heart of Maroubra, Sydney. The synagogue offers a range of services and programs catering to all ages, including youth services and adult learning opportunities. The community is known for its warmth and friendliness, fostering a supportive environment for both regular and occasional participants. The synagogue has undergone several renovations to enhance its facilities, including rebuilding the hall, front courtyard, kitchen, and bathroom facilities in 2015, and completing a renovation of the rear courtyard and entry in 2022. The community also offers a new function facility with a commercial kitchen attached, along with other modern facilities. Located in Sydney’s southeast, the synagogue is connected to Mount Sinai College through the work of Rabbi Zalman Goldstein, who serves both the synagogue and the school. The community offers a wide range of children’s programs, catering for all age groups, and incorporates tefillah, games, stories, and activities relating to the Chag or Parsha of the week into their services. The synagogue is a registered not-for-profit organization, and donations are tax-deductible. The community is proud, in touch, and knowledgeable of Orthodox Judaism, supportive of Israel, and caring of each other. (maroubrasynagogue.org.au)
